About

Who we are:

We are a family run, small town farm, located in the heart of the Finger Lakes.  We make our home in Canandaigua.  Canandaigua is derived from the Seneca name of its historic village here.  In modern transcription it means "the chosen spot"

Two brothers, Brian and Chad Howell, with a wide range of experience in many fields, decided it was time to get back to our roots and into the field.  After running and managing a few businesses, we wanted to get back to some of our childhood experiences, in, and around the farm.  Those early farm experiences, enriched our lives, helped us develop a strong work ethic, and help drive us today.  

The beginning:

We decided it was time to head in the direction that felt right for us and our families.  We started by specializing in growing great garlic.  Our hope is that you try and love our garlic.  We grow organically, producing the high quality hardneck variety garlic.  We are excited for our future and are committed to growing our farm through sustainable practices.  

Where we grow:

Our field is a beautiful is made-up of sandy loam and composted organic matter.  It sits on a slight incline, soaking in the sun.  Quite water streams by from the lake outlet.  A lot of hard work went into preparing our garlic beds.  We believe in building our soil and caring for it, like any living organism.  Our soil is where it all begins.  In addition to growing garlic we also do our own compost.  The compost is very important to feed and build a great soil foundation. 

Our Goal:

To supply premium quality, organically grown, seed garlic, and gourmet food garlic, for garlic lovers and growers!
